Payroll Officer
Role Overview:
We ARE seeking an experienced Payroll Officer to support payroll operations for a leading international organization. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing for both active and non-active employees in Belgium, while acting as a key point of contact for payroll-related queries and personnel administration. You will work closely with HR, finance, and external payroll providers to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain personnel data, including social documents, holiday pay calculations, and contract changes.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll in collaboration with HR and external payroll providers.
- Perform payroll checks to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely salary payments.
- Upload and update employee data in payroll systems.
- Handle administrative processes such as Dimona declarations and follow up on BISS number applications.
- Manage employee offboarding documentation, including Zima declarations.
- Liaise with mutual insurance companies regarding sickness, statutory leave, and related payments.
- Act as the main point of contact for employees regarding payroll, benefits, leave, and social documentation.
- Support and follow up on absence requests, including parental leave and time-off arrangements.
- Work closely with HR and payroll providers to resolve payroll-related issues and improve processes.
- Prepare and manage personnel-related correspondence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Personnel Management or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years of payroll experience in Belgium.
- Strong knowledge of Belgian social legislation, social security, and income tax.
- Experience with payroll administration, processes, and best practices.
- Familiarity with cafeteria plans and special tax regimes is an advantage.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- Fluent speaking and writing Dutch, proficiency in English and/or French is a plus.
- Detail-oriented with a structured and accurate working style.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with HR, finance, and external partners.
- Customer-focused with a proactive and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work independently while integrating well within a team.
- Comfortable working in a dynamic environment and handling ambiguity.
- Willingness to take initiative and share knowledge.
- Work schedule: Full-time (5 days/week).
- Daily working hours: 8 hours.
